Love is . . . .

I've been working on a "Love Is . . ." series to add to my store as a WordArt pack and I decided to offer one of the designs as today's freebie. This one is "Love is in Bloom" and I thought it turned out pretty cute. Since February is the month we celebrate love, I just finished 3 new wordart packs to add to my store all dedicated to the theme of love. Some of these are past freebies and some our new designs so once their loaded I'll post the previews. Oh, and don't forget, the Valentine's Blog Train will be here soon. Have a great day, and yes, it's snowing here in Michigan again. Oy, when will Spring be here?

See What You Can Do With WordArt!

Good evening, my blog friends. Your response to last night's freebie has been wonderful so to everyone that left a little comment here or at 4shared, or emailed me directly, I thank you for taking the time to comment - it really makes my day. :-) I also wanted to take a minute tonight to share with you one of the thank you notes that I received. Marlie left a comment here on my blog that included the link to her gallery at DigiShopTalk. She wanted to share with me what she did with last night's freebie and because I thought it was really GORGEOUS, I asked her if I could post it on my blog and she agreed. Thank you, Marlie - you did a great job on this layout and I love the way you incorporated the WordArt into your design. I'm also including the credits as provided my Marlie in her gallery.

Please do not hesitate to share your layouts with me, I love seeing my WordArt in action. Send me an email, or post a link in your comments, or add it to the guestbook and I'll highlight some off them in special posting here on my blog. Eventually, I might even have a CT call so show off your layouts, you never know where it might take you. ;-) I'll be back tomorrow with another freebie.

Can't Seem To Get Away From The Love

I guess it's because Valentine's Day is just around the corner but I can't seem to pull myself away from the love quotes and phrases. I love heart shapes almost as much as I love snowflakes so I can't resist playing around with these shapes. I really like this quote and it could be used for all kinds of situations (new baby, new puppy, or describing your feelings of love at first sight). Has anybody experienced love at first sight? My husband says that he knew as soon as he met me, isn't he sweet! I obtained the links for Saturday's Valentine Blog Train and it's huge, over 60 blogs to visit. Wow, it will take days to go through the list just to visit them all. Here's the preview for tonight's freebie.

Valentine Corner

Quick post! I played around with something new today. I created a word jumble out of Valentine words in the shape of a corner. I thought it would look really neat in the corner of a page layout or as a photo corner. I designed it big 12 x 12 but it could easily be sized down to fit any size corner. Something fun to play with.

I also have some store news. All my wordart packs are finally loaded into the store and published. Woo-hoo! Things are finally starting to come together at DigiScrapShop so if you haven't paid the store a visit recently, hop on over and check out what everyone has to offer.

Loveable Defined

Hello everybody! We are experiencing a small heat wave here in Michigan - 34 degrees yesterday - Woo-Hoo that's down right balmy! Short lived though, the temperature is expected to drop tonight and then we are in another cold spell. Bummer! My parents just returned from Tucson last night. We picked them up at the airport at around midnight and boy did they experience a temperature shock - like a slap in the face. Brrr! We had to laugh because yesterday was the first warm day we've had since they left two weeks ago.

I have my Valentine Blog Train designs completed and ready to go. It's going to be a huge train so look for that next Saturday. Today, I played around with some word definitions. I created a 4-pack for my store and I have a seperate one to share with you tonight. I love adding definitions to layouts as a way to help tell the story or describe something special. Of course I couldn't be happy with just the words, I had to add a little something also.

Before I forget, I wanted to tell you about a new website. It's very cool! It's called DigiScrap Finder and it is a search engine/gallery dedicated to kits for sale - no freebies. So if you're looking for something in particular, you can click on a category and a gallery will appear with kits that are for sale by designers in that category. When you find something your interested in, you simply click the link that is provided and you arrive in the store that is offering the kit. Pretty neat. I think once more designers hear about it and use it, it will be a valuable tool. They don't have a blinkie yet but when they do, I will add to the blog. In the meantime, here is the link for Digiscrap Finder.

Love Is All Around Us

I love this phrase about love because on days when I'm feeling a little blue it reminds me that there are a lot of people that care about me so I turned it into a WordArt. I played around with the same paper I made and used in yesterday's freebie to create this one and I think it turned out really cute. My designs for the Valentine Blog Train are coming along nicely and it will contain lots of fun stuff (maybe even some more paper bits). Oh, who am I kinding, I did design another WordArt with the paper bits from the other day that I'm really excited about and can't wait to share with you all. In the meantime, enjoy the freebie below and thanks again for your advise on dealing with my nasty computer virus. I'm happy to say that I had no issues again today so I think I'm free of it's grip.

Valentine Blog Train - Love Freebie

I'm back as promised with tonight's freebie but first I wanted to let you know that I'm also going to participate with the Valentine's Blog Train sponsored by Scrappin' Bratz, which leaves the station in only a couple of days - January 31st. I signed up late so I have to get busy. I've posted the blinkie with the link to the site if you want to check it out early. From what I saw, this is going to be huge so stay tuned for more information.

I had this freebie completed yesterday but due to my computer virus yesterday, I was unable to post. Thankfully, that situation is behind me and I appreciate everyone that emailed or left comments with advise after my earlier post today. It is such a frustrating thing to get rid of and then try to figure out how you got it in the first place so it doesn't happen again.
Below is the preview for tonight's freebie.

Dead in the water! And a big thanks!

Well, it finally happened, yesterday my computer caught a nasty, stubborn virus. I have NO idea how I got it because it happened first thing in the morning as I was looking at freebies and I had not unzipped any files at that point. We have Norton 360 running and I even take the extra step to scan all individual files before unzipping but I still got the whammy! This virus was giving me phony security warnings as an attempt to get me to visit a website to purchases some type of software to fix the problem. It even hijacked Internet Explorer so that I couldn't go anywhere but this particular website. Nasty bugger! I was steaming - don't people have anything better to do? I was dead in the water all day! And then to add insult to injury, my husband was on our laptop chatting with the good folks at Norton and they were more than happy to help for a fee of $99.00. Excuse me, I already paid to run your service and your suppose to protect me so why would I pay you more money! At that point, we started doing some Internet searching and figured out how to get rid of it ourselves. I'm so lucky I have a smart husband - he's my computer tech. Thanks Honey! Anyway, at around 10:00 last night, we finally got rid of the virus. Whew! Glad it's gone! Now if I could just figure out how I got it?

I wanted to post a thank you yesterday to everyone who left comments on my blog and 4shared concerning my last freebie - you guys are the best! That little freebie has been downloaded over 1,700 times -wow! I'm so happy you liked it and that you don't mind being my test subjects. I will definitely be doing more things like this and I have a few more surprises up my sleeve. I'll be back later with another new freebie that I think you're going to like as well. TTFN ;-)

Paper bits wrapped in a hug

It's still very cold here in Michigan but I hear we have a heat wave coming when we're back in the upper 20's at the end of next week. Woo-hoo! Compared to our recent temperatures, it will be down right balmy. So since it's been so cold, I've been spending a lot of time, indoors, on the computer playing around. Today, I have something a little different for you -- hope you guys don't mind being my guinea pigs? I've been wanting to do some paper bits with words on them for awhile so I experimented with some craft paper styles. I wanted it to resemble some scrap pieces of paper layered together to make a quote come alive and I think it turned out pretty cool, what do you think? I love reading your comments because it gives me that much needed feedback to know what's good and what's not.

Sorry - this link has expired but a version will be available in the store soon.

I have some news also. I'm going to participate in the Lucky Blog Train sponsored by Scrappin' Bratz. I will post more information on this when we get closer to the date but already 27 designers have joined the list of contributors so it should be packed with all kinds of great stuff. If you want to check out some of the designers that will be contributing the link is http://luckyblogtrain.blogspot.com/ I'll be posting a blinkie also with the link as a reminder that the train is coming.

Speaking of St. Pat's Day, here in Bay City, we have the Saginaw River that runs through town and then makes it way out to the Saginaw Bay and eventually out into Lake Huron. Well someone here in town is trying to get the OK to dye the river green for St. Pat's like they do in Chicago. The Saginaw River is known for it's problems, mostly due to contaminents from Dow Chemical, and the lovely shade of dirty brown water so everybody wants to know, what color do you get when you mix green with brown? Yucky seems to be the common sentiment. Apparently, it is possible to make it green so it will be very interesting if it comes to light and I'll be sure to get some pictures.

Brrr! It's still cold ... have a heart old man winter!

Yikes! It's still cold here in Michigan and to add insult to injury we're suppose to get 5 - 9 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon. I guess I should be happy about the snow because that means the temperatures are going to rise but I'm ready for winter to come to an end. Any-hoo, I had an idea for a design using the phrase, "My heart belongs to you" so I played around and around and around (sometimes my perfectionism gets the best of me) and finally came up with this sticker version. I'd love to see what you can do with it so get busy and add some more layouts to the guest book.

Just click on the image and add your email address and before you know it, my posts will land in your inbox. Don't ya just love technology.

Continuing on with the lovin'

Boy is it cold today!!! This morning the temperatures out in the Thumb of Michigan were -17 degrees - that's actual temperature not wind chill. Ouch! Not as cold where I am only -6 this morning but cold is cold and I had an early appointment for a haircut so I was freezing my buns off.

As promised from my earlier post today, I'm back with a freebie. I used the same action on these little love word plaques that I used on the I Love You freebie from the other day. Do you see a theme emerging? I love the texture and look that this action from Atomic Cupcake gives to things. If you like them, click on the image to download. I'm off to add some more products to my store.

New Store Kits

Sorry I've been AOL. There have been some changes at the DigiScrapShop that are now making it possible for us to upload our own products to the store. I spent one night in a chat with 4 other designers learning the in's and out's and then last night I loaded 9 kits to the store. If all goes well, I'll be adding another 8 kits today and then I should be fully stocked. Woo-hoo! Oh, that felt good, I need another Woo-hoo. The process has been slow up to this point but now that the designers all have the ability to do this, the store should fill up quickly. So I'm going to share with you a new set of previews that should be available in my store today or tomorrow.

I'll be back later with a new freebie - I promise!

Some more lovin!

Ok, I've got some more lovin for you all. I think I mentioned this before but I'm addicted to fonts, which is why I spend a lot of time searching for commercial friendly fonts to design my wordart -- that way, if I decide to sell it in my store, I'm covered. However, I decided today that I am seriously addicted to Layered Styles and Actions so I played today in my every growing designer toolbox. I've got so much stuff, that if you are familiar with PSE you know that every time you load an action or style, you have to rebuild your database to get the program to recognize the new item. Sounds harder than it is but the more you add the longer it takes rebuild and I'm a very impatient person. I had to purchase a 1TB external hard drive to store all my goodies because my computer was about to bust. Serious addiction problem don't ya think?

Anyway, I started playing around with the phrase, "I love you" and with a little magic and thanks to Atomic Cupcake, presto, I ended up with this. I hope you like it because I was really happy with the way it turned out and I'm hoping that the colors, which are soft will go with an assortment of Valentine's themed kits that are available in the wonderful world of digiscrap land. Snag it early because it won't be around for long before I move it into a wordart pack for sale in the store.

How About Some Lovin!

Howdy everyone! I had a lot of fun making the pet inspired wordart over the past couple of days that it got me motivated to make a few more Dog and Cat kits to add to my store. Not sure at this point when that will happen but when it does, I'll share the previews along with some new stuff I have ready to go. So thank you for all your wonderful comments about the pet kits, you don't know how much I enjoy reading them. It gives me a much needed boost.

Tonight, I'm sharing some Lovin inspired WordArt since Valentine's Day is just around the corner and who doesn't love playing with heart shapes. I'll have more but here's a little start kit to get you in the mood. ;-)

Click here to download. Blogger is being a stinker tonight and wouldn't let me load an image so I had to upload the image to Photobucket first. Hope it posts OK!

Kitty WordArt

This will be a quick post because it's late and I need to get to bed. Big Yawn! As I promised yesterday for my kitty loving friends, I have Kitty WordArt. Yeah! Althought I'm more of a dog person than a cat person, I think cats have the most unique personalities because they express such independence in everything they do. Whereas my dogs, well they think that we have to be involved in everything they do and they think they need constant attention, which is probably why I'm so tired. LOL!

Doggie freebie and store news

Well, the store at DigiScrapShop is finally open. Woo-hoo! However, it's a soft opening and there is still a lot of work to be done because a lot of the designers do not have all their products loaded into the store yet, including myself. :-( Apparently this is a high-end store software they are using and because of that we, as designers, do not have access to the store for uploading and making changes like a lot of stores have so you can imagine the work that has been involved in getting this up and running with just a few people working on it. If you want to take a peek, there is a link to the left and I added a slideshow that will contain previews to all my kits. The link takes you directly to my store but once there, you can move around into other areas of the store as well. There will also be a sale coming up that I will give you more information on in a few days because I'm not exactly sure on the details.

In the meantime, I have another freebie for you all. Since the pet related stuff was so popular, I have a four-pack of doggie related WordArt for you tonight. And yes, for you cat lovers, I will have a four-pack for you next.

Happy New Year's

Can you believe that another year has come and gone? It's unreal how fast time flies. I have decided to greet 2009 with new hope and optimism that things will get better in our economy and our lives. I have a Peanuts comic strip desk plaque that says, "When life takes you for a ride... hang on tight", and that's exactly what I intended to do. Hopefully, the store at DigiScrap will be open in the next couple of days, which will be a nice way to greet the New Year. Anyway, as I was spending some time thinking about 2009 today, I played around with a few WordArt pieces to share. If you can use them, click on the image to download.

THIS LINK HAS EXPIRED BUT A VERSION MIGHT BE AVAILABLE IN MY STORE.
