Whew! There is a lot going on!

Here we are the first of April and doesn't it feel great. The weather here in Michigan has just been gorgeous this week. We spent the first part of the week at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor because my Father was suppose to have surgery for the repair of 2 abdominal aortic aneurysms. However, as they prepped him for surgery, they got some blood work back that indicated there was a problem with his blood palettes being two low, or so they thought, so the surgeon called off the surgery for fear that he might bled out on the table. Needless to say it was an emotional rollercoaster of a day and unfortunately, we have to do this all over again in a week. My Father has already had a valve replaced and a triple bypass and then a second surgery to repair an aneurysm on the back side of his heart so he knows the drill but this surgery is going to be more serious because of where these two new aneurysms are located. We are of course happy that they are being cautious but it was such a let down for my Father because emotionally, he was all ready to go and get this over with.

Anyhoo, I have a bunch of information to pass along to you and a freebie. Woo-Hoo! Easter Time freebies and a New Kit

Wow, I can hardly believe that Easter is right around the corner! Didn't we just celebrate Christmas? Where does the time go? Cool before I know it, it will me Summer. Yeah! I'm already daydreaming about my garden, grilling and enjoying the weather out on my desk. Okay, focus, Kathy! Time to get back to work.

Since Easter is right around the corner, I have a new kit and a coordinating alpha that will be available in all stores tomorrow. Woo-Hoo! This was a fun kit to put together because I made a lot of my own element templates for this one. I was having trouble finding cute templates for bunnies, chicks, and so forth so I finally decided to make my own.

Here are the previews to Spring's Renewal along with a coordinating alpha that I designed. I love the alpha, it looks so yummy and they will really pop on your pages once you add a drop shadow as I did in my preview.These will be on sale for 25% off through Monday, March 29th and I have a few layouts created by my creative team to show you.

Easter 2009

I saw something in my Scrapbooks etc. magazine today that I thought would be fun to recreate and put my spin on; a challenge if you will. I love a challenge! I made some Easter colored polka dot papers and clipped them to my letters and then I used an action from Atomic Cupcake to make my acrylic easter eggs. I then decided that using one of Bannerwoman's felt styles on the letters would look nice also (love her stuff) so I ended up with two versions. Since I can't decided which one I like best, I'm offering them both as a freebie. I hope you like them and I would LOVE to see what you can do with them. Please don't be shy, share your creations.

Fuzzy Bunny

So no one wants to take me up on my It's All About Me Challenge at Scrapable? Come on, it's fun! If you like templates, we also have a Map Quest Challenge every month that provides you with a free layout template and all you have to do is create a lei-out using the template. This one was created by our store owner, Jeanye - she's the host this month. Isn't Stitch a cutie! Hey, does that WordArt look familar, oh yeah, that's mine! Shamless plug!

I'm updating my post from last night to show you my take on the Map Quest Challenge. It was really easy. I just download the free template and started to play. This is the same kit, I used for the It's All About Me Challenge (Carla Holf kit Darling).
Anyway, I have a little freebie for you tonight. I snagged a freebie from Bannerwoman yesterday that I just had to play around with. It's a layered style called "Glittered Foil." Of course, I love a little bling-bling and I thought the foiled aspect gave it a shimmery quality. So, I hope you like it. I tried to pick all pastel or Easter colors so that it would compliment other Easter kits you might possess. Enjoy the freebie and please leave some love. Ever since I switched to Box.net for downloads, I'm not getting many comments here on my blog and I so love to hear from you guys.

Easter Freebie

It's been a couple of days since I posted a freebie so tonight is the night. I've been busy working on some new designs and I have some exciting news to share in a couple of days but I'm going to leave you hanging on that note but here's a clue!

On to tonight's freebie. I was working on something the other day with gingham ribbon and alpha tags that I thought would be fun to turn into a WordArt design. So I used some bright ribbon and colors to create this Easter WordArt or Element if you like. I've been having a lot of fun playing with some new layered styles from Bannerwoman so you're going to see a lot more of them in the future. I used her Felts3 style to make the letters on the tags. Bright fun colors, I love them. Hmmm... I guess I could have made the preview a little bigger but you get the drift.

Also, I wanted to share a layout I received from one of my loyal followers, Sharon. She created a cute layout with her precious Granddaughter Kayla using the "Little Girl" freebie from last week. Didn't she do a great job and what a great smile on little Kayla's face. Sharon created the layout with a freebie kit titled "Love Is" from the talented Linda at Bon Scrapatit Designs.
