It’s the first day of Fall and I’m refusing to accept the fact that I’m going to have to put away my flip flops soon. I do love fall and everything that it has to offer but I'm just not ready to let go of Summer yet.

The Power of YOUth Collaboration Kit

Phew! We finally got a break from that oppressive heat wave and now we can actually enjoy some summertime fun outside again. I don’t know about where you live but here in Michigan, just about every county around us is well into their county fair activities and that means plenty of 4-H activities. Since I grew up in a rural area, I remember as a kid going to the fair every summer and walking through all the animal barns and visiting all the other 4-H exhibits, which was a big part of our county fair.

I recently had an opportunity to work with a fellow designer at GingerScraps, Rachel a/k/a Pretty In Green on a collaboration kit. As we were brain storming for idea, she came up with a 4-H themed kit and even though it was a bit out of my comfort zone, I decided it would be a fun challenge so The Power Of YOUth was born.

The kit itself contains 29 papers and 50 elements and was a bit of a challenge because we had to be careful not to use their federal protected logo or the words 4-H or4-H Club but I think we did a great job of getting the theme across without using those items/terms.

I also have a set of decorated wordart and an alpha to go with the kit.

And Rachel has an awesome set of painted cardstock and a set of layout templates.

And if you love the entire collection, we’ve bundled it all up to save you a bunch of money. You get all 5 products for only $7.50!

New Collaboration Kit

Howdy! I hope everyone is surviving this unusually warm weather we have been having across the country. Here in Michigan we've had temperatures in the 90's for several days and today, we are experiencing a nice cool 68 degrees. Such a crazy Spring we've been experiencing. My heart goes out to all those that have been effected by this years tornado activity. I had a hard time watching some of the coverage on TV because it was just so devastating and hard to comprehend.

I have a new collaboration to share with you. I've teamed up with the awesome Ellie Lash Designs to bring you this soft, pretty kit with a bit of vintage flair. Happy Easter weekend everyone. I hope the weather cooperates for all those kiddies looking forward to Easter Egg hunts. Here in Michigan the weather has been cold and rainy so it hasn't been such a great Spring thus far.

I finally got around to giving my blog a fresh new look. It was long overdue for a makeover and I've been stalking some of the Blogger forums to find some more tricks and tips for customizing my template. One of these days, I'm going to get brave and select one of the new ones but for now, I think it's looking bright, fresh and clean.

Hey there! How is everyone? We got a glimpse of spring last week with 60 degree temperatures and then mother nature decided she wasn't done with us and gave us the gift of 5-inches of snow! UGH!! I am so ready for winter to end, right! I've been keeping busy while fighting off cabin fever by designing a bunch of new products, working on a newsletter, and arguing with my computer and Photoshop Elements.

I was having a lot of difficult with PSE6 so I broke down and upgraded to PSE9 and things have returned to normal. I also stumbled upon a great tool called Graffi's Add-o-Matic that totally saved me a ton of time as I reloaded all my layer styles, photo effects, custom shapes, and brushes. It was worth the original price of $19.95 but I found a coupon code for $5.00 off so that made it even better. Anyhoo, for all of you PSE users that struggle with loading, this is a simple drag and drop operation. I opted to go with the tool because a) I wanted to get back up and running quickly and b) I heard that it was more difficult to load in PSE9 and this builds the .xml file for you. I finally got around to designing something for the boys! Rough & Tumble is a fun kit with bright colors and lots of texture to scrap all those fun loving boys in your life.

Here is the matching alpha and coordinating wordart and I also created a set of embossed papers.

It's a great kit and I think it's versatile enough that you can use it for girls as well. I mean, who doesn't have a tomboy that doesn't love to get dirty. Right! I know when I was a kid, my sister and I would spend hours playing in our sand box building huge castles and getting very dirty.

Oh, and because I know how everyone loves a bargain, I've bundled the entire collection up into one great price. February Blog Train Blog

Good morning everyone! For those of you that reside in the Northeast, are you ready for some more snow? We're suppose to get between 8 - 12 inches here in my area of Michigan tonight so looks like we'll be house bound for a couple of days again. I'm so tired of winter and all this snow and extremely cold temperatures we've been having but on the plus side, I'm getting a lot of designing completed.

I have a bit of news to share before I get to the blog train. First off, did you hear the news? There's an app for that!! If you love GingerScraps and want to keep up on all the latest happenings, you can now get an app for your iPhone, iPad, or iTouch from the iTunes store. How cool is that!

Also starting in February we will be offering the GingerScraps All You Can Eat Buffet. A build your own mega kit using the same color palette and theme with each pack at $2.00 a piece. And to make it even sweeter, we will combine it with the Bake Sale on the 1st of the month so that each pack will only be $1.00 during the first 24-hours.

Winter Wonderland

I heard on the news last week that 49 of 50 states had snow on the ground! Is that crazy or what? This has certainly been an unusual winter so far. Here in Michigan, we haven't had as much snow as normal just really cold weather so I'm going a bit stir crazy. The good news is that I have been busy designing and have many new projects coming up.

So who wants to play in the snow? I have a collection coming out today that will make it fun to scrap all your winter themed layouts. Winter Wonderland is a full kit with 20 papers and 55 elements along with a coordinating bead alpha and decorated wordart. I have all the individual pieces on sale for 30% off and to help you save even more money, I have created a bundled product as well.

New Collaboration - Christmas Jingle

Hi Guys! Gosh, can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner? Goodness, where did this year go? It's seems like, I was just getting excited about Spring arriving after a difficult Winter and now here we are getting ready to blast back into the cold, dreay winter months. It's a little depressing for me so I've been try hard to focus of cheery things, which is why I was so excited about my new project with LauraMarie Scraps.

Christmas Jingle is a non-traditional Christmas kit filled with fun colors, tinsel, glitter and other shiny elements that will bring a sparkle to your layouts. I've been having a lot of fun playing around with this kit and so has my creative team.

The kit is available in all my stores and at 30% off the entire weekend.

Isn't it cute! And just wait till you see what my creative team did with this fabulous kit. But first, I have some more items to show you. I also have several coordinating pieces that will turn this collaboration into a collection.

First up is this fun candy cane striped alpha that comes in two colors -- Red/Green and Red/Pink.

In addition, I also have a set of glittery layered snowflakes and a set of coordinating wordart.

Now let me show you those fabulous layouts using the kit and some of the coordinating products.

I have been playing around with the kit as well. I just love the bright, non-traditional colors of the kit and the fact that it has a modern feel. I created a new siggy for myself to sport in the forums. Pretty cute, right!

Now on to a little freebie to share. I love to bake,cook and share recipes so I've been designing recipe cards for quite some time now and with the holidays right around the corner, I decided it was time for a new recipe cards for all those cookie exchanges and gift giving. This recipe card graphic is 4 x 6 and is easy to print. You can either insert the graphic into your favorite program (2-up) and cut apart with a paper slicer or scissors or you can use Avery Postcard stock with scored perforations making it a snap to break apart. If you use the Avery product, it will come with instructions to print or you can visit their website and download a free template (Postcard - wide, 2-per sheet 5889). You might have to play with the margins a bit to get it to line up. I always test print first so I don't waste my stock. CraftCrave

And as long as were talking recipes, here's a quick and easy recipe that I've used the past couple of years for yummy little cookie tartlets. These look very festive placed inside decorative cupcake wrappers on your holiday trays or inside cookie tins for gift giving. And they are so quick and easy that you can whip them up when unexpected guest drop by. I've included the recipe inside the zip file.

How's everyone enjoying Autumn? I love this time of the year and this weekend we are expecting gorgeous weather so my hubby and I are head north to take in all the fall colors here in Michigan and visit a former neighbor. I'm hoping to get some nice pictures so I can scrap with my new kit, Whispers of Autumn. Did I mention I have a new kit in the stores and it's on sale all weekend long for 25% off. Whispers of Autumn is filled with rich autumnal colors and textures along with some fun pumpkins, leaves, acorns, branches, and a cute little scarecrow. Hey, where did September go?

Oh my gosh, where did September go! It seems like I blinked and bam, here we are at the end of the month all ready. I realized as I finally made it back to my blog that my last post was September 1st and it's been all down hill since then. I spent the majority of the month helping my parents get through a rough patch. My stepmom, whom if you've followed my blog for awhile, you know is more like a mother to me and I love her to death, had a serious of surgeries and ensuing complications that lead to several hospital stays. I could go on and on but the gist is that she had both her appendix and gallbladder removed and then developed complications with a large hemotoma that formed in the muscles on the right side of her body. After the gallbladder removal, which should have been an easy, routine thing, she literally looked like she had been hit by a truck, she was that bruised. Of course the surgeon indicated she was fine but as it turned out, she was pretty sick with a serious infection that had become encapsulated inside this massive blood clot. It tool several hospital stays, catscans, and finally a needle biopsy to pinpoint what was wrong with her. She's on the mend now and finally gaining her strength back after the long ordeal and we are all returning to our normal routines again. No more back and forth to the hospital again for awhile.

I have been working on a new kit for over a month now and I finally finished it amongst all the turmoil. So are you ready for some football? I love football and my father was a head high school football coach for many years before he retired from teaching so I grew up with the sport. I can still remember watching game day films with my father and the other coaches on Sundays as they planned their strategy for the next week. And I still love it to this day so I put my love for the sport into this kit.

So did I mention that it's my birthday this weekend? I'm feeling so old as I look back over everything that has happened since my last birthday. Last year at this time, I almost lost my wonderful hubby due to a serious illness and I wondered, "how in the world was I going to make it through this horrible event" but somehow, he survived and although he's been disabled and unable to work over the past year, we have come through it stronger and were now looking toward some big changes in our lives.

I also spent numerous hours in the hospital with my Daddy, who had major surgery to repair two abdominal aortic aneurysms and a hernia. This has been his third surgery in 3 years and at the age of 75, it has taken it's toll but he continues to bounce back and move forward for which I am very extremely grateful. And recently, my wonderful stepmother, whom I consider to be Mom, has had some health issues as well. She recently had her appendix out and is now experiences gallbladder problems and kidney stones so she's feeling pretty miserable and will probably have another surgery soon to remove her gallbladder. So it's been a busy summer as we help my parents out with whatever assistance they need as they both recover from surgeries and illness.

Now you know why I feel so old, it's been an exhausting year but I refuse to let it get me down. Always the optimists, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. So here's a little lemonade! I'm having a huge birthday bash sale all weekend long. I've marked many of my kits down to $1.99 to celebrate my birthday with you. This is a great time to stock up and check some of those items off of your wishlist.

Good Morning! I have new kit to show you today. Well, it's an old kit that I didn't get added back to the stores after I left Scrapable so just like the Independence kit, I gave it the once over and vamped it up into a huge kit for back to school along with some coordinating wordart. This kit is so versatile because of the bright fun colors and elements that it can be used for so much more than just school themed layouts.

Inspiration to Share

Howdy! Yikes, has it been hot this summer or am I just having an extended hot flash! Hee Hee! Yes, I am getting to be about that age and in a couple of weeks, I'm turning 46 years old. Oy! I'm on the downward slide toward the Big 5-O. It's been a crazy summer with all this heat and bad weather, family members in and out of the hospital, my hubby and I contemplating a relocation and now my birthday. Quick, I need something to cheer me up. On the other hand, I've had plenty of time to design and play around with some new things while being trapped in the house with the a/c running so something good has come from all this misery.

I thought I would share a little inspiration with you today, using some of my recently released products. A bit of show and tell if you will and then I'll shower you with a freebie at the end. I have a couple of great layouts to share with you using the Happiness Blooms Collaboration kit with Scrapberry Designs. This kit is available exclusively through Gingerscraps along with the coordinating wordart pack that I designed. One of my CTM's Jen created this adorable layout that won LOTW at Gingerscraps. I loved what she created here because of her shadow work and that great title she created out of the alpha that is included in the kit.And how about this one by Jovi-girl? She's one of the talented site CT's at Gingerscraps. I just loved how she split the layout in two but yet the entire things comes together as one great layout. Wouldn't you agree?

Now that summer is in full bloom, how about those Independence Day layouts? Here are a couple of new layouts created using my Independence Kit and coordinating products, which are available in all three stores.

This first one is by Lisa, she's on the team over at Gingerscraps and the second one is by Trina. Trina designed this layout as the cover or title page to her 365 Layout project. She actually used the kit for all of her pages for July but I thought I would just show you the cover.
And how about a Girly Birthday Party! This kit is still a favorite of mine and here's a recent layout created by Mandy. She created such a beautiful and festive cluster that I just had to show it off.

This is a great layout using both the Say Cheese wordart pack and the kit Smitten by another CTM, Valeri. It all started with this wonderfully extracted photo, the perfectly blended background and the creativity she applied to the wordart to match her layout.

And let's not forget the doggies that share your life. Here's another layout by Valeri using the No Bones About It collaboration kit with Digilicious Designs along with the coordinating wordart and alpha that are available in all my stores. I loved everything about this layout. She took a piece of the pre-made wordart, added some of the alpha pieces to create a great title for your layout.

I have a new kit being released on August 13, which has been revamped and updated into a huge new kit for back to school. I've also created some new coordinating wordart. Here's a sneak peak.

I also have a cute mini kit coming out on September 1st as part of the Mega Grab Bag at Scrappity-Doo- Dah that will surely capture the "apple of your eye."
And then there is this awesome Gingerbread Ladies collaboration kit, Shabby Seashore. This was such a fun kit to put together with the soft colors and shabby feel. It's perfect for all of your summer memories from those ocean vacations or simple days at the beach with friends and family. The theme this time around is Fall Carnival and I got a peek at some of the previews already and its going to be such a cool kit. Here's the color palette. I can't wait to play around with this one.

Hey there! How is everyone enjoying their summer? It's been so hot! Even here in Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes we've had some might warm temperatures this summer. Things are slow right now around digiland with everyone enjoying summer vacation but I've been keeping busy with all kinds of great products and kits coming your way.I just finished a very cute collaboration kit with the awesome Scrapberry Designs. This kit is so cute it just makes you smile looking at it. And if just looking at it brings a smile imagine how cute your little darlings would look scrapped with it.
The kit contains 26 papers, 60 elements and 1 super cute alpha and it can only be found at my Gingerscraps store.

And this one is from me! I hardly every get to spend a little time scrapping for myself but my sister was here a couple of weeks ago and brought some photos with her and this one inspired me to have a little fun. This is my niece, Lauren and her friend, Cayley. It's such a happy photo I thought it would be perfect for this kit. My niece is heading off to the University of Michigan in the fall and we are all so proud of here.

New Products, Layouts and The Blog Train Blog

Woo-Hoo! Fun stuff to share once again. I have just loaded back into the store a revised version of Independence along with the coordinating wordart and alpha. Because this kit was on the smaller side, I decided rather than offer as a mini-kit that I would give it a fresh look and bump up some of the papers and elements and I think it's a much improved version. The wordart and alpha are the same just the kit has been revised.

Here's a few layouts to give you some inspiration and a glimpse of the kit in action. This one is by Missy and I just love the patriotic/heritage feel of this layout. This is her Grandfather, Father, Hubby and Brother all dedicated to serving their country. Awesome page Missy!

And this one is from Amanda a/k/a Photocowgirl, she's one of the designers at GingerScraps and she makes awesome layout templates. This layout was made with her new Extreme Cluster Templates isn't it just beautiful?

It's finally here, my collaboration with Christine a/k/a/ Digilicious Designs is now in the stores. No Bones About It is a gorgeous collaboration perfect for any pampered pooch! Bad Blogger and a Freebie

I am such a bad blogger! I just realized from my last posting that it's been a whole month since I posted something new here. Shame on me! I've been so busy designing and working on some projects around the house that all these deadlines have been kicking me in the hiney.

I've got a couple of great kits that are just about to be released. One is a major re-tooling of an older kit Independence and I have an awesome collaboration with Christine, Digilicious Designs that all you dog loving fans will simply adore. No Bones About It is the cutest kit with awesome colors and textures. There will also be several companion pieces from both Christine and I that will make for one huge collection to scrap endless layouts.I'm participating in the Blog Train Blog again and this time we have a Picnic At The Park theme along with this great color palette. The train leaves July 1st so we're just a few weeks away from all the fun.
