New Kit - Smitten and a freebie.

Good morning everyone. I have been working so hard the past three weeks to get my products uploaded into the new stores and putting the finishing touches on my new kit "Smitten" that I haven't had time to do much else. It's been so cold here in Michigan that being stuck indoors hasn't been all that bad but being tied to the computer for hours on end, well that was challenging to say the least. However, today is the start of a new adventure for me and I'm excited to say that my new stores are finally open. Woo-hoo! At this point, I have loaded about half of my kits and everything has been checked by a quality control team so that you can be assured that my designs are 100% quality checked. This is something that I am very excited about because Scrapable did not have this type of service in place and I'm proud to say that I have passed with flying colors.

Now on to the good stuff! Here are the previews to my new kit "Smitten" along with a matching alpha that contains a full alpha in three coordinating colors.
I wanted to design a kit for Valentine's that did not contain the more traditional colors of reds and pinks but something that was more warm and fuzzy so Smitten was born. My creative team has been playing around with this kit while I've been busy loading my store and they came up with some incredible layouts.


Didn't they do a great job? This one by Rose, inspired me to create the full matching alpha. Rose is very creative, she took apart the Love wordart piece that is in the kit and used it as separate letters in her cluster. Well, when I saw that I decided that I needed to make the full alpha in three colors.

News, a Sale, Pictures and Freebie

Whew! It's been awhile since I blogged but I have a good excuse. Really I do! I needed a break to make some decisions and get my design mojo back. I was a little burned out and along with some other things going on I just needed a break but I'm back and re-energized with some things to share with you. First off, I have made the decision to leave my store at Scrapable because of a variety of issues. Not an easy decision for me to make but a necessary one in order to move forward with some new opportunities. I've been asked to join the team at Enchanted Studio Scraps and Scrappity-Doo-Dah, which are both growing stores filled with some familiar faces so I am very excited to be joining them both. In light of that, I have just marked my entire store down by 50%, which means prices in my store range from a low of $1.00 to a high of $2.50 for full kits. I'm planning on retiring some products through my transition to the new stores so now is your time to snag what you want at a great price.

I also just finished up a new kit, which will be available in a couple of weeks when the new stores open so I thought I would give you a sneak peak.


I thought I would also share a really lovely exhibit that my hubby and I took in on Thursday. Here in Michigan the temperatures have been cold and in my neck of the woods, we have about 9-inches of snow so you might think that what I'm going to say next is crazy. We visited Dow Gardens, which was started in 1899 by Herbert Dow, founder of The Dow Chemical Company for an outdoor exhibit by artist Craig Mitchell Smith called "The Winter Garden Glass". Thursday was my hubby's birthday so we were looking for something special to do and stumbled upon this event and we lucked out because the sun was shining and our temperatures had climbed into the high 30's, which is like a heat wave for us. Anyway, we hiked along the paths in search of the 25 glass sculptures that were featured throughout the garden and a few in the conservatory. It was really nice to be outside in the sunshine and spend the day together doing something adventurous. Here's a few photos.

Isn't the Cardinal just wonderful perched up in the tree? We walked by it three times before finding this one. I love sunflowers so I was drawn to this one as well.Although the picture does not do it justice, this topiary was really lovely as well and the Iris Chandelier, amazing as it twirled from the tree it was hung from.Here are a couple more that I really liked.Now these last two were just stunning, in my opinion. This first one is an Orchid that they had displayed in the conservatory and if you didn't look at it closely, you might not ever have guessed that it's made entirely out of glass. Just amazing.

And this last one was the largest piece of all called the Blue Star Rising. It was hung from the middle of the conservatory and we had a little trouble taking pictures because as soon as we entered the building our glasses and camera lens steamed up from the difference in temperature but I did manage to get one good picture after wiping off my lens several times.

You can also tour them on a couple of nights when the exhibit is illuminated, which I can only imagine is spectacular. Have a great weekend everyone. Here's a little freebie that matches the new kit. Enjoy!
