Spring Flowers Bring New Life and New Store Items

Quick post tonight. I have another Spring inspired WordArt for you. I found some fun cardboard styles in some cool colors so I played around with this phrase this afternoon. This one has a slight drop shadow on the individual flowers and words and I hope it will go with a variety of kits.

**Sorry this link has expired**
I also wanted to share with you the previews to two new WordArt packs that have been added to both of my stores today. Have a great evening!

Buds are forming and before you know it, it will smell like Spring!

Yippee! I'm posting early today, which means that hopefully those of you that subscribe to Feedburner will get this posting tonight, instead of tomorrow. I've been working on some more Spring inspired WordArt packs this afternoon and I managed to squeeze in a freebie . I love these new fonts I purchased from 2Peas, they have been so much fun to create with and I thought this one just screamed Springtime. Fun, springy, very cool font. My hubby has decided that he'd like to try his hand at designing some font so I'm anxious to see what he comes up with and maybe, if I'm a good girl, he'll let me use them commercially! ;-)

**Sorry this link has expired.**
Also, if your interested in a free Desktop Calendar, here is the preview of what we are offering at Scrapable for April. This month's design is courtesy of It'z A Neet Design and she's included a coupon to her store with the download. You have to be a member of the forum in order to both see the thread and download but it's a painless process. And since today is Friday, there is also a freebie by one of our other designers, A Garden Girl Design and it's a cute mini kit titled, "Bright Sunshiny Day." So what are you waiting for, get over to Scrapable and snag these two freebies today! If you click on the image it will take you to the forum. Have a good evening!

$1 Wednesday at Scrapable

Just a quick post to let you know what I am participating in $1 Wednesday's at Scrapable again this week. I'm repeating the doggie/kitty kits from last week and I'm adding 2 more. This is a great opportunity to snag up some of my WordArt for only $1. I'm working on several new kits as we continue with the theme of Spring and then I'll move on to Babies/Kids, which is the next biggest vote in the poll on the right. I'm also working on our next Collaboration kit for Scrapable, which has a color swatch of 10 colors and the theme of "One Kit Fits All Families." Sound interesting doesn't it? I'm going to focus on incorporating some WordArt that better reflects some of today's family dynamics such as extended families, step-parents, step-children and so on. I think it's going to be a unique kit so look for that in May. If you click on the image it will take you directly to the $1 Wednesday category.

Spring Blooming

My husband and I took a nice break this afternoon and went to see the new Nicholas Cage movie, "Knowing." The previews looked good but it was way different than what we expected when it took a left turn toward the end but we enjoyed the movie anyway. We then went out and treated ourselves to a nice lunch and ran a few errands. All and all, a great afternoon! Now, I'm back as promised with tonight's WordArt.

I decided that since I had made a bunch of alphas for the DSS Spring Fever Blog Train, I might as well continue to use them. This cute little saying will go along with the WordArt you received from me in the blog train. Just one more piece to add to your blog train collection. Enjoy!

Sorry this link has expired.
Question, has anybody upgraded to Internet Explorer version 8? We did and I must say that I am not that impressed. Apparently, it's not compatible with some websites that were created with older version so menus, texts, and images can be out of place on those websites but I've also noticed distorted and blurry images. I've run into this several times and even though it has an option to run in Compatibility View to correct the problem, it's still not right. My suggestion, don't upgrade yet. I'm thinking about going back to v.7.

New Store Kits

I was really pushing myself last week to finish the DSS Spring Fever Blog Train, 3 new Spring inspired kits, and coordinating the sales at both stores that it completely slipped my mind to post the previews to the new kits. I'm losing it! So here are the previews and remember, they are on sale at both stores all week for 20% off.I finished my part of the Mega Birthday Collaboration kit at Scrapable's last night and got a peek at everyone's preview. It's a really nice kit so if you haven't made it over to register in the forum, what are you waiting for? We are going to start giving this "Birthday Gift" to registered forum members starting April 1st. What a nice way to celebrate your birthday right! You're going to love the WordArt - 6 pieces designed by me but I'm not going to show you a preview because I want you to be surprised. I'm off to spend sometime with my husband - poor thing has been neglected lately. We're off to lunch and an afternoon movie.

I'll be back later with a freebie!

Something Special to Share

If you are here looking for the Spring Fever Blog Train, it's down one post and it's full of wonderful Spring colors, papers, cute elements, and an alpha to boot. It might be a small train but each designer was generous with their time and contributions so be sure to leave thems some love if you snag their freebie.

Now, I have something special to share with you. From time to time, I receive emails from people that want to jot me a quick note to let me know how much they appreciate my work, and I LOVE hearing from you. However, on occassion I am also fortunate to receive an example of what they did with my WordArt and I thought this one was worth sharing.

I received an email from Lindsay to let me know that she had used the "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Girl" WordArt freebie on her daughter's birth announcement and I thought, what a cool idea. So I asked her if it would be OK to share it with you all because I'd like people to see that WordArt can be used in a variety of projects other than just digital scrapbooking. Isn't Megan adorable! Congratulations, Lindsay to you and your family on the new addition of your sweet baby girl.

Lindsay indicated that she used the kit, "Fly Me To The Moon" by Spinky Dink Scraps, which just happens to be one of my fellow designers at Scrapable. I highlighted this kit a couple of weeks ago as it was part of our $1 Wednesday's. It's such a sweet kit that can be used for both girls and boys. Lindsay also indicated in her email that she's new to digital scrapbooking and that she already addicted. If I had a dime for everytime, I heard that phrases, I'd be living in "paradise" instead of designing in it. It's happened to us all, Lindsay but don't worry, it's a painless addiction. TTFN and have a great day, everybody.

Scrapable Happenings

Couple of things to share with you that are happening at Scrapable - Digi Scrap Paradise. First, if you register in the forum or "Island Mingling" as we like to refer to it, you will be eligible to snag a freebie every Friday from one of the talented designers in paradise. Cool right! You have to be logged in to see the thread each week so ride the wave and get registered. We love tourists!

Also, starting April 1st, registered members or "tourists" will receive an awesome birthday surprise on their birthday. We are putting together the final pieces to a Mega Birthday Celebration Collaboration to celebrate your birthdays. And each year, the kit will change so the following year when your birthday rolls around, you'll receive a brand new Mega Birthday Collaboration. How cool is that!

Don't forget tomorrow is the blog train at Digi Scrap Shop and I've seen some more of the previews now - you're going to be happy you stopped by. Everyone is being very generous so it's worth the trip and I hear that there will be a cool alpha to match the theme, which is "Spring Fever."

Woo-Hoo tomorrow is the first day of Spring, let's celebrate!

Can't wait for April showers!

What a beautiful day we had here in my region of Michigan; 70 degrees - Woo-Hoo! I'm so excited for March to be over with and April showers to begin because I am so looking forward to seeing all my perennials start to peak their little heads out of the ground. This was a rough winter in more ways than one so I need to see the funny faces on my Daisies to brighten my days.

I came across some cool cloud shapes the other day that I thought would be perfect for a WordArt and what better way to use these clouds than with the traditional "April showers bring May flowers" phrases. So I played around and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it.
**Sorry this link has expired**

I finished up my portion of the DigiScrapShop Blog Train today - Whew! I didn't think I was every going to get it done. The colors are fun and bright and I not only did a few pieces of WordArt, I also designed some cool, worn papers and pretty flowers so be sure to check out my posting on Friday, the first day of Spring, for all the links and information. I'll also post the previews to several new Spring and Easter WordArt packs that will be available in both stores and they'll be on sale!

Spring Break

It's getting late so I have a quick post to share a new freebie and a few other pieces of news. I'm participating in another blog train that should be fun. Several of the designers from DigiScrapShop are participating in a Spring Blog Train that will be rolling, you guessed it, on the first day of Spring (03-20-2009). The color palette is bright and fun so hopefully it will get you in the mood to scrap some Spring layouts. I'll have more information for you shortly.

Second, I'm looking for a replacement for 4shared. I've been having too many problems with my computer and I'm hearing more and more people talk about virus problems within 4shared so I'm conducting a test to see if I can rule them out. I've signed up for file sharing with Box and tonight, I'm using it for the first time. Please let me know what you think or if you have any difficulties. I'm still researching so I maybe giving others a spin as well.

I've been watching the poll and it appears that everyone is ready for Spring/Easter WordArt so that is where I am focusing at this time. I've got several new kits in the works so I'll be posting previews to them shortly and I hear that in conjunction with the blog train, we will be having a sale so I hope to have them done in time for the sale.

Hey, this was suppost to be a short post. :-) Anyway, on to tonight's freebie. I'm having a blast playing around with my new styles from Bannerwoman. Today, I used her brand new style Glittered Chipboard. So very cool! I'm like a kid in a candy shop that can't wait to get the wrapper off! So many fun tools so little time!

So sorry this link has now expired but a version of it is available in a "Spring Fling" WordArt Pack in my stores.

$1 Wednesday's

Hi guys! Hope everyone is finding some fun goodies on the St. Pat's Blog Train. Just a quick post to let you know that today is $1 Wednesday's at Scrapables. I have all my fall and winter WordArt packs included in the sale so now's the time to snag them. If you click on the image it will take you to sale section in the store. I also wanted to share with you this adorable kit by Spinky Dinky Scraps titled "Fly Me To The Moon," which is also included in today's sale. It's an adorable kit and it's only $1 today only. Here is a layout created using the kit. Couple of cutie pies!

I also wanted to share with you two layouts that were added to the guestbook recently. This first one was created by Shellebee75 with a nice photo extraction. Really nice job!

This one was created by Rebecca and I thought it was a really nice example of taking a black and white photo and adding a hint of color to certain elements. Aren't they a handsome couple!? Love the use of my WordArt in this layout.

Nice job ladies. Thanks for sharing!

Lucky Blog Train - It's Huge!

OK, guys the Lucky Blog Train is ready to leave the station (official tomorrow 03-10-2009) however, I'm posting mine tonight because I know I won't be on the computer until late tomorrow afternoon. If you were with us for the Valentine Blog train, you know how big it was but believe it or not this is even bigger - it's huge! I believe I counted 76 stops, wow is that awesome or what. Who knew that St. Patrick's Day was so big - not me. Anway, here is my preview and link.

**Click on the image to download**

It was suggested that since this would be such a long list of train stops and would result in such a huge posting on our blogs that if we wanted to, we could supply the link for the main stop and you could blog hop from there so that is what I am going to do. So on the link below and it will take you to the list of contributors.

Lucky Blog Train Links

This way if you want, you can bookmark the Lucky Blog train and come back to it over several days to grab your goodies. Also, remember not all of us are in the same time zone so be sure to check back to those blogs that might not have their contribution up yet. DONT FORGET TO LEAVE SOME LOVE AND LET THE CONTRIBUTORS KNOW HOW MUCH YOU APPRECIATE THEIR HARD WORK. Enjoy the ride!

Spring Flowers

Hey, yesterday it was warm and today -- boom it's cold and chilly again but I will not let it detour my elation, I'm still in Spring mode. And what's this, another freebie? Yup, I was playing around and before I knew it, I was designing a fun Spring WordArt. I've been having so much fun playing around with some new layered styles from Bannerwoman and today she had a sale, so I bought some more. Oy! my name is Kathy and I'm addicted to layered styles.

The style I used on the flowers is from a series inspired by velour and it creates such a nice effect. I love it!! Have a good evening!

I'm sorry this link has expired but a version will be available in my stores soon.

Beautiful Spring!!

Oh my goodness, we got our first taste of Spring today and it was SWEET! Temperatures close to 60 degrees today and the snow is melting fast - not fast enough, but fast. I've got Spring Fever something awful so I am so ready for this long winter to comet to an end. So to celebrate my elation, I whipped up a little Spring WordArt today.

**Click on the image to download**
Two other pieces of news to share. Just a reminder that the St. Patrick's Blog Train is scheduled to leave the station next Tuesday (03-10-2009) and the list of contributors is long, very long so there should be some fun freebies to snag. I finished up my portion today. Yeah!

And, I've put together a poll with some of your suggested themes over the past week. So take part in the poll and I'll start working down the list by vote. I've got way too many ideas bouncing around in my head so I need some direction on where to focus.

Happiness

Woo-Hoo! Just a couple more weeks and Spring will be here, finally! This weekend we get to enjoy Daylight Savings Time, which is always a pick-me-up for me even though I might lose an hour of sleep. So I'm feeling happy today and I got some good news from my store at DigiScrapShop. Thanks to you guys, my blog generated the most referrals for the month of January and February. That means that a lot of traffic visited my blog and then went to DSS to browse or shop. So thank you to everyone for making me look good. ;-)

Here's a little freebie to reflect my happiness. I thought it was a cute saying and I was thinking a WordArt 4-pack inspired by happiness is in my future. So enjoy, and have a happy day!

Clue Revealed - Exciting News!

Ok, I left you a clue the other day with my little hula girl - did anybody figure out what I might have been referring too? Am I going on vacation, no. Am I taking hula lessons, no. Am I moving somewhere tropical, I wish but sadly, no. Hmm .... what could it be! Well, I'm really excited to share with you that I have been invited to sell my designs at a new store called Scrapable, Digi Scrap Paradise. I'm really excited about this store because it has a "paradise" theme and who wouldn't want to spend a little time in paradise, right?

Everything about the store is influenced by the theme from the graphics, to the designers. We are known as Cabana girls, and the CT members are known as Hula girls and they do some awesome work with the designers kits. There is also a forum or Island Mingling where you will find lots of information about the store and other goodies or you can mingle with the locals. Also be sure to visit the gallery or Visitor's Album where you can show off some of your layouts using the designer's kits or just browse for inspiration.
And there's more! If you like to participate in challenges then Scrapable, Digi Scrap Paradise offers visitors a chance to particpate in many activities to keep you entertained. This month we have a Treasure Hunt, a Sing-a-Long, Fun in the Sun and many more activites as part of the monthly challenges where you can earn leis (points). The more leis you earn the faster you earn a traveler's check to the store!

And that's not all, each month one of the Cabana Girls (designers) will design a Desktop Calendar for free. That's right, I said free! Here's the preview to this month's calendar.
**Click on the image to visit our blog for the desktop.**
I'm starting to sound like an announcer here. And now Bobby, tell them what they've won. I saved the best for last. In celebration of our GRAND OPENING, we are having a week long sale with 30% off storewide and in addition to that, if you purchase $10.00, you're eligible for our collaboration kit. Woo-Hoo, how cool is that! Below is the flyer with information on the sale. So that means that all my kits will be on sale this week for only $2.10 so surf on over to the store and check it out.

Here are the previews for March Mega Collaboration - Life's a Beach and the coupon code is: collabwith_10

So, was it worth the lengthy post? I hope so. Hey, let's take a look at the cute little hula girl one more time. Makes you want to spend some time in paradise, right!?
