Easter Freebie

It's been a couple of days since I posted a freebie so tonight is the night. I've been busy working on some new designs and I have some exciting news to share in a couple of days but I'm going to leave you hanging on that note but here's a clue!
Photobucket
On to tonight's freebie. I was working on something the other day with gingham ribbon and alpha tags that I thought would be fun to turn into a WordArt design. So I used some bright ribbon and colors to create this Easter WordArt or Element if you like. I've been having a lot of fun playing with some new layered styles from Bannerwoman so you're going to see a lot more of them in the future. I used her Felts3 style to make the letters on the tags. Bright fun colors, I love them. Hmmm... I guess I could have made the preview a little bigger but you get the drift.

Also, I wanted to share a layout I received from one of my loyal followers, Sharon. She created a cute layout with her precious Granddaughter Kayla using the "Little Girl" freebie from last week. Didn't she do a great job and what a great smile on little Kayla's face. Sharon created the layout with a freebie kit titled "Love Is" from the talented Linda at Bon Scrapatit Designs. It's a beautiful kit and if you haven't seen it, pop on over to Linda's blog here.

Bad Blogger - New Awards

I'm a bad blogger. I've received a couple of awards from people that I have not shared or passed along. Shame on me. I'm pretty certain that I might have missed one so I'm trying to play catch-up with these most recent acknowledgements.

First from the wonderfully creative and generous Gunhild, I received the Lemonade Award. If you are not familar with Gunhild's work than you must visit her blog because it's packed with freebies that she generously offers for both personal and commercial use. She makes us all look good so I thank you Gunhild, for your generosity. You can find her blog here.

I also received an award from Polarfuchs Treasures. This is an interesting site because she does web designing and she offers items for scrapbookers as well. Right now on her site she has some really cute birdies so check her out here.

I'm going to cheat and pick a total of 5 people to pass these long to instead of 5 for each award.
Lemonade Award goes to:
Laurinda's Digiscraps

Teri's Thing-O-My-Jigs
Both of these ladies are as sweet as lemonade and talented to boot. Visit their blogs and you'll find some "sweet" quick pages created with their newest kits available in stores.
Creative Scrapping Blog goes to:
Scrappin Cop

Deb is another designer that is very generous with her time by offering wonderful freebies for both personal and commercial use, including custom shapes, templates and layered styles, which I love.
Bannerwoman Designs

Very talented designer that feeds my addiction to layered styles and has given me some wonderful advise over the past year. Thank you B!
Easy Custom Blogs
Jeanette has devoted her blog to sharing wonderful tips on how to customize Blogger. She helps us all make our blogs look good.

A Baby Is ...

Please keep the suggestions coming on new themes to explore, I'm getting some great ideas. You can either email me directly or post in the comments. I have one to add, if your interested. Is anyone working on Project 365 layouts? If so, would you be interested in items for this theme?
I'm just finishing up a 4 pack titled "A Baby Is ..." so I'm in baby mode. Here's a cute saying that I've seen often and I had this really neat brush that I've been dying to use from Danielle Corbitt. Hope you like it!

New Store Items

Hello all! We got slammed with another snow storm on Saturday - picked up another 5 inches. According to our local news, this is now the 6th snowiest winter on record here in Michigan. Although it's good news for the Great Lakes water levels, were all tired of winter. Where are you Spring?

I've been busy designing new products to add to my store. Below are previews for the three (3) new kits I added today. I'm finishing up kits in the following themes: Home, Wedding/Marriage, and Pregnancy and I hope to have them added by the end of the week.
I'm going to try to be back later with a freebie and I would like to get some input from you guys on what other themes you would like to see me tackle. Is there something unusual that you haven't been able to find that you'd like to see me offer? Feel free to make suggestions. I love a challenge! If I get enough suggestions, I can make a poll on the blog and work my way down the list by votes. I'm also thinking about having a contest were you will be able to win one of my 4-packs. Sounds like fun, hey!

Sweet Babies and a Challenge

I've been challenged twice for the 6th Picture Challenge so I better get busy and pass it along. I was first tagged by one of my faithful blog followers, Dianna from Digicats and then by the one of my fellow designers at DigiScrapShop the lovely Teri from Teri's Thing-O-My-Jigs Here's how it works:
•Go to your photo folder in your computer
•Go to the 6th folder of photos
•Go to the sixth picture
•Put the picture on your blog and a description of it
•Invite six friends to join the challenge
•Link them in your blog and let them know they have been challenged!

So my 6th folder in My Photo's folder just happens to be one of my favorites because it contains all the pictures I've taken of my flowers over the years and the 6th picture in that folder is below.

This is a Asiatic Lily that is about 3 years old in one of my flower beds and it get a lot of attention from people walking by because it gets so tall. This past summer it was almost 4ft tall and a goregous fushcia color. I can't wait to see what it does this year.

So now I'm going to challenge the following people and some of my blog followers to post their 6th photo:

Sammy from Sammy's Rambles because I know she takes a lot of pictures and posts on her blog
Jeanette from Easy Custom Blogs - she's our blogger guru
Judy from Tagger Paws - cute blog that she loves to use to share her new layouts and photos of her cute little Yorkie's
Xashee from Xashee's Corner - faithful blog follower that is always kind enough to leave a nice comment - thank you Xashee!
Sharon from Scrapcat's Scrap Crap - another faithful blog follower and she's a retired fire fighter - how cool is that!
Cris from All About Cris - another follower that is generous with her comments.

Now on to the freebie! Yipee!

Boy did it get cold here fast. Brrr! Temp's in the low 20's and very windy makes for a couple of bone chilling days. So I've spent the last couple of days concentrating on creating some new designs for my store and then I realized I didn't have a freebie ready. So, here's what I'm going to do. I'm offering a new design as a freebie but it will only be available for a couple of days to my lovely blog followers, hey, that's you. Once I remove the link it will be placed in a four pack for sale in my store. Hope you like them. I played around with an action I bought a while back from Atomic Cupcake to make the building block alphas. Aren't they cute!

Sorry this link has expired but a version will be available soon in my store.

Our Family

First, I wanted to let you know that we decided to follow-up the Valentine's Sale with a President's Day Sale at DigiScrapShop. So from now through Sunday, February 22, 2009, you will receive 10% off your total order of $5.00 or more. Cool! So if you hesitated on buying something during the recent sales, hop on over and take advantage of this offer.

I'm working on a bunch of new designs to add to the store with a focus on families, frienships, babies, weddings and our homes so tonight's freebie is something I threw together with the theme of our families in mind. I hope you like it.

Sorry I can't get this preview any bigger. It's sized 3600 X 984 but Blogger keeps shrinking down the image to fit in the column. I also had to do the preview as a jpeg image instead of png because you couldn't see the white lettering on my blog background.

Cris: You are welcome for the link on the puzzle effect. I'd love to see what you do with it. I played around with it a little today on a photography my husband took during one of our big snow storms this winter. If you want to move the pieces around after you apply the effect like I did here, select all the layers (or pieces) and then right click to unlock the links. It's a cool tool and you can make puzzles from 4 - 100 pieces. If anyone else is interested, the link is above the photo. Just make sure when you get to their site that you download the correct version because they have downloads for both PS and PSE. This link will take you to the home page and then you can search under PS or PSE Freebies to find the Puzzle Effect. They also have some other fun freebies as well.

Love You Freebie

Quick post because I'm holding up dinner, again! My poor husband, he never gets to eat at a descent time anymore and it seems like I always have a whinning dog at my heels demanding attention, OY! Anway, I think this will be the last of the love inspired freebies for awhile but if you like the format of this freebie, I'm thinking I will make some more with other words. I played around some more with my new styles from Bannerwoman, she's a great CU designer, and I think this turned out pretty cool and I hope you like it as much as I do.

Hello everyone!

So sorry I've been absent guys - my paying job is getting in the way! Well, I wouldn't say that it actually pays very well but it does cover the bills, kinda. ;-) We are self-employed working in an industry that has taken a huge hit due to our struggling economy but the past couple of days, we've been surprisingly busy so I've been helping my husband out by actually working instead of my official role as "head bean counter." Manual labor, yucky! I'll be back tomorrow with a new freebie and I'll make sure it's extra special because I see I haven't posted anything since Saturday, yikes!

Love Forever

I have something a little different for you tonight - you know me, always pushing the envelope with these wild ideas in my head. Anyway, I've been wanting to play with some puzzle pieces as wordart for quite sometime so today was the day. I also purchased some great new layered styles from Bannerwoman that I couldn't wait to play with. I used her Crayon Messy, Sticker Outlines, and PaperSet2 while playing around with this design. I'm not entirely sure if I like it, but it's free!

Valentine's Day Sale

Hi guys, just a quick post to let you know that we are having a sale at DigiScrapShop. Capture the moments you cherish and make them last a lifetime by taking advantage of 10% off now through February 14th. I have 3 new love inspired kits now available in the store. Some of these are past freebies, which have expired and some our new designs you haven't seen. So if you missed them when they were freebies, what are you waiting for, take advantage of 10% of now.

I also want to show you the preview to a wonderfully designed kit entitled "Hankey Pankey" by one of the designers at DigiScrapShop. Teri, from Teri's Thing-O-My-Jigs, is one of the wonderfully ladies I have met and gotten to know over the past month or so. She's a sweet gal with loads of talent and her collaboration with Stacey Crossley is a first for them but when you look at the preview, you will swear it was designed by one designer. They describe the kit as "shabby chic with a little old fashioned grunge" and you've got to love the name, Hankey Pankey. You can get the kit in Teri's store here and for a limited time, it's 25% off. Also, Teri is getting ready to introduce her new CT members on her blog soon and I know they are planning on sharing a few goodies so stop by Teri's blog here and say Hi! Don't you just love the color combination?

Nothing makes me happier than .....

Of course the end of that sentence is "making freebies for you." Nothing makes me happier than making freebies for you. That's the title of this post and the theme for tonight's freebie. Aren't I cleaver for someone that is lacking sleep. I spent way too much time on the computer yesterday and then found myself wide awake from around 2:00 to 5:00 a.m. so you guessed it, I was back on the computer. I've meet some wonderful designers/gals at DigiScrapShop and our new form of communication is Yahoo Messenger so I've been chatting away at all hours of the night instead of sleeping. So quick post tonight so I can get to bed. Not completely sure if I like tonights freebie but I'll let you be the judge of that. I hope to have some previews of some new kits entering the store tomorrow and I believe, we are having a Valentines sale so hopefully, I'll have some information on that as well. Sleep tight.

Wow - 100,000 hits!

Quick post tonight. I hope everyone found something useful on the Valentine's Blog Train? I've been absent for a couple of days and I was pleasantly surprised to see that sometime over the weekend my blog counter rolled over the 100,000 hit mark. Woo Hoo, how cool is that for someone that had no idea what she was doing back in September. That's right - no clue! Awesome, and I am so happy to share my freebies with you guys because you've been so generous with your lovin. - so a GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL!

To those of you who just stumbled across my blog due to the blog train, I welcome you to my little corner of the world. I hope you snagged some of the other freebies while you were here. I'm working hard to get some more new kits in the store and I'll have some great freebies also.

What do you think of the new blog background and header? As much as I loved my little, puffy snowman, I decided it was time to think Spring. This has been one of worst winters here in Michigan so we're all ready to see old man winter pack his bags. We ended up with a couple of inches of snow today and then this weekend it's suppose to be in the upper 40's so they are predicting a major melt off and flooding - great, more fun.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new freebie. Have a good evening!
